Preparing the pedestrian precinct "Sant Salvador" is the patron saint of our village "Artà". And "Sant Salvador" also is the name of the church that dominates Artà from a hill, overlooking the whole "poble=pueblo" The inhabitants of Artà are Catholics, but this doesn't mean they are deeply religious. On the other hand: They love to celebrate when ever possible - and the religious motives are a welcome matter to do this. The celebration of Sant Salvador lasts therefore from July 29th until August 7th. The pedestrian precinct is carefully equipped with garlands, tables and chairs of the regional bars here to allow as much people as possible to sit down (and drink and eat…) Meanwhile the inauguration- and fire-spectacle is going to be prepared… |
